Mark Tramontin: Tommy Theodose was the coach, and he was also my gym teacher. And, actually, there were some African American kids in my gym kids. Theodose, you just -- you knew he didn’t have an ounce of prejudice in him. He was a remarkable man. I mean it’s too bad that the rest of the faculty couldn’t have led by his example because I do remember thinking you always felt safe in that class. And I was lousy in gym, so that was not one of my favorite things in the world, but it was a time where there was all interaction between every kind of kid you would think of -- even kids that were lousy at gym. He just had a great touch in encouraging everyone, and, obviously, he was a fantastic coach.
