They never expressed a negative or positive about it.  They acknowledged what was going on.  My only recollection was when I was in Venable Elementary School, and I don’t know what year, Black children came to Venable.  But I remember my mother sitting me down and saying, “You know, these kids are going to be afraid and they’re going to be not with their friends.  Be kind and make friends.”
