Tommy Theodose had had the kids at football practice, I guess it was, and he picked two kids, a Black kid and a white kid, and had them stand up and run through some play. And they did it, and then he had them sit down, he said, “Now, do I have to show you everything in black and white?” And the kids just exploded with laughter. And really, I think the kids were so grateful for humor because there was so much tension that it was just very refreshing to have somebody who could deal with racial issues but in a light-hearted way.
