The game that I really remember the most is when we played a team in Danville. And we also wore black armbands because we were opposed to the Vietnam War, which I guess wasn’t the smartest thing to do at a place like Danville. But what I do remember is that the state police escorted our bus into the stands, and they led us onto the field where we were going to cheer. It was really weird. It was the first time I had experienced white hostility in such an organized fashion, you know what I mean?
