I wasn’t cognizant enough at the time, when I was younger. You don’t think things then like you should. But there was a lot of animosity in the Black and White community. It was mainly the fault of the white community, now that I look back on it, really. It wasn’t even a question about it. And they were different times. And like I said, it was a generational thing. The way your parents raised you and their thoughts carried into one generation to another. And, like, Charlottesville, couldn’t imagine anything like that today. But it was different.
